Paul Hafner of Quantum Acoustics
Born in 1966, always interested in understanding what surrounds us and discovering new ways of getting one step closer to perfection.
Graduated 'Organic Chemistry Engineering' with a start in research from the benches of the Polytechnical Institute of Bucharest, pushed towards Doctorate studies for 2 years right after the change of regime that opened such a wide area of opportunities.
Partnering with my father in 1991 in our Family Business called Valimpex, gave me the opportunity to start my journey in High-End Audio as an independent businessman. I had the chance of working with people like Jason Bloom from Apogee Acoustics, Glen Grue from Classe Audio, A.J.van den Hul, and many more.
Some of them are not among us anymore, unfortunately, but I cherish them all and mostly the things I was able to learn from them.
In the year 2000, I registered High End Audio
My deep involvement in continuous research, in understanding why and mostly how, apparently minor details have such a powerful influence on an audio system, pushed me towards experimenting and trying to find better solutions for getting closer to the real experience.
At first, I tried combining the best I could get from the worldwide market. The next step was to study and combine the properties I valued in each product, trying to understand and extract the essence of every sound presentation detail, and mostly where it came from.
Close to perfect started not being enough anymore, so the hunt for defects and they're dismantle triggered my experimental stage and opened the solution finding door.
By studying the technologies involved in manufacturing different parts of an audio system, which I had the chance to discover and better understand due to discussions that took place with some of the most brilliant minds of this industry, I developed my own theory.
The most intriguing part for some would be that most of them are right, despite the different angle they took in solving the same issues, but at the same time, we are all missing the perspective that would help us reach the unspoiled truth.
And this is how and mostly why QUANTUM acoustics was born.
